This season, we commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War II in the fall and 250 years as a Nation in July, during our quarter-millennial celebrations. Over three concerts, we share music in tribute to those who served and are currently serving, music from our allies in WWII, and American music at its quintessential best, All to commemorate and celebrate our American Anniversaries. We look forward to sharing our love of live orchestral music with all of you. To begin the new 2025-2026 season, a patriotic pops program featuring our local Lawton Philharmonic Chorus singing “God Bless America,” “Armed Forces Medley,” and “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” will serve as a tribute to all of our Armed Forces at the 80th Anniversary of the end of WWII. The Orchestra will play iconic music associated with such occasions including Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber, and Hymn to the Fallen by John Williams, with a special performance of Aaron Copland’s A Lincoln Portrait, narrated by Lawton’s own, Retired Colonel Albert Johnson, Jr. All that and more!
